1. Scope of These Terms
These Live Client Simulation & Credential Terms ("Live Terms") supplement the general QBO Dojo Terms of Service and apply specifically to Live Client Simulation enrollments, engagements, assessments, and Applied Bookkeeping Belt credentials. If there is a direct conflict between these Live Terms and the general Terms of Service on a Live-specific matter, these Live Terms control for that matter. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Service.
2. Nature of Live Client Simulation
Live Client Simulation is a simulated bookkeeping engagement in which QBO Dojo acts as the simulated business client. QBO Dojo provides a simulated client environment, business transactions, documents, communications, evolving circumstances, missing or imperfect information, and realistic bookkeeping responsibilities. The learner independently performs the bookkeeping work and makes their own bookkeeping decisions. QBO Dojo evaluates the work actually performed. No real business is at risk.
3. Independent Performance / No Instruction During Simulation
Live Client Simulation is not an instructional bookkeeping course. QBO Dojo does not provide classes, lessons, instructional sessions, tutoring, step-by-step bookkeeping guidance, or remedial instruction during the assessment. QBO Dojo provides the simulated client environment and assesses the work performed. Reference material available elsewhere on QBO Dojo does not convert Live Client Simulation into an instructional course.
4. Belt Difficulty and No Prerequisites
Live Client Simulation is available at three difficulty levels: White Belt Live Client Simulation, Orange Belt Live Client Simulation, and Black Belt Live Client Simulation. The belt describes the selected simulation difficulty. There are no prerequisite belts. A learner may begin directly with White, Orange, or Black. A learner who believes they can demonstrate a higher belt-level of performance may enroll directly at that level. Progression is optional.
5. 90-Day Initial Commitment
Live Client Simulation begins with a binding 90-day initial commitment. The monthly payment option does not create a cancellable one-month trial. If a learner cancels during the initial 90-day commitment, cancellation prevents continuation after the required initial period but does not eliminate remaining payments required under the initial commitment. The initial 90 days are not freely cancellable month-to-month service.
6. Enrollment, Payment, and Provisioning
Live Client Simulation cohorts begin on the 1st of each month. Enrollment closes sufficiently in advance to allow provisioning. The first payment is due when the learner enrolls. QBO Dojo does not provision or prepare the simulated client or QuickBooks Online company until the initial payment has been received. Provisioning begins within approximately 72 hours after purchase and payment. The learner will be invited into the QBO company as the accountant as part of launch preparation. QBO Dojo does not provide immediate QBO access at the moment of purchase.
7. Cancellation and Nonrenewal
For monthly billing, the first payment is collected at enrollment, and subsequent required payments are billed on the 1st of each month. After the initial 90-day commitment, the engagement continues month-to-month at the same monthly rate until canceled under the applicable terms. A cancellation request during the initial commitment prevents continuation after the initial term but does not eliminate the remaining required initial payments. For prepaid enrollments, the first 90 days are paid in full at enrollment. After the initial engagement, the engagement continues at the preferred continuation rate unless canceled under the applicable terms.
8. Refundability After Provisioning
Live payments become nonrefundable once provisioning begins, except where applicable law requires otherwise or QBO Dojo cannot deliver the purchased Live Client Simulation. Provisioning begins within approximately 72 hours after purchase and payment. A blanket statement that all Live charges are irrevocably nonrefundable the instant checkout is completed does not apply before provisioning has begun.
9. Included QBO Subscription
For Live Client Simulation, QBO Dojo creates, pays for, and provisions the QuickBooks Online company used by the simulated client. The learner does not separately pay QBO Dojo for the QBO subscription during the paid engagement. This is distinct from standalone Practice Clients, for which the learner is responsible for obtaining their own QuickBooks Online access. The appropriate QBO environment depends on the simulated client.
10. Access to the QBO Company After the Engagement
Where a learner completes the initial 90-day engagement and all required payments for that engagement have been made, QBO Dojo intends to leave the learner connected to the QuickBooks Online company as the accountant after the active engagement ends, so the learner may continue reviewing their work in read-only form. Continued access depends on Intuit's then-current policies and is not guaranteed by QBO Dojo.
Continued access is not available where required payments are not made. If a monthly enrollment lapses before the initial 90-day commitment is satisfied, access to the QuickBooks Online company ends and the company may be removed without notice or recovery. Nonpayment does not eliminate remaining payments required under the initial commitment.
This Section controls over the Refund and Cancellation Policy with respect to access to the QuickBooks Online company used in Live Client Simulation.
11. Learner Third-Party Costs
QBO Dojo does not pay for unrelated operating costs or optional third-party tools the learner chooses to use, including practice-management software, client portals, document-request systems, workflow platforms, or third-party subscriptions. The learner is responsible for the cost and configuration of their own optional third-party tools. Where reasonably practical, QBO Dojo will participate through the learner's chosen platform in its role as the simulated client.
12. Assessment
QBO Dojo evaluates the bookkeeping work actually performed by the learner within the simulated-client environment. Assessment considers demonstrated performance across areas that may include bookkeeping accuracy, reconciliation quality, appropriate transaction treatment, financial statement integrity, detection and correction of errors, consistency, documentation and audit trail, professional judgment, handling ambiguity, client-facing clarity and communication, and completion of expected bookkeeping responsibilities. Assessment may consider expected bookkeeping outcomes, accounting reasonableness, internal consistency, supporting documentation, professional judgment, and material effect on the books. The learner is not required to reproduce a single canonical answer exactly.
13. PASS / FAIL
The final credential outcome is binary: PASS — credential earned, or FAIL — credential not earned. Completion alone does not earn the credential. The learner must meet QBO Dojo's applicable assessment standard. There is no provisional belt, no participation belt, no conditional belt, and no automatic downgrade. A learner who attempts a higher belt and does not meet the standard does not automatically receive a lower belt.
14. Applied Bookkeeping Belt Credential
A learner who meets the applicable assessment standard earns the corresponding Applied Bookkeeping Belt credential: Applied Bookkeeping White Belt, Applied Bookkeeping Orange Belt, or Applied Bookkeeping Black Belt. These credentials are private performance credentials issued by QBO Dojo LLC based on demonstrated bookkeeping performance within the applicable QBO Dojo simulated-client environment.
The credential is not governmental licensure, professional licensure, accreditation, CPA certification, an Intuit certification, a QuickBooks certification, a guarantee of employment, a guarantee of future performance, a guarantee that the earner is suitable for every client or engagement, a representation of competency beyond the scope actually assessed, or a guarantee that the earner requires no supervision.
15. Engagement Debrief
Every learner who completes Live Client Simulation receives an individualized Engagement Debrief, whether the result is PASS or FAIL. The debrief addresses the learner's performance against the applicable assessment standard and may include the PASS or FAIL determination, credential earned or not earned, competency-area assessment, areas of strength, areas requiring improvement, significant bookkeeping findings, professional-judgment observations, material errors or deficiencies affecting the result, significant issues affecting the determination, developmental feedback, and retake information where applicable. The debrief is professional feedback intended to help the learner improve. It is not a certification, grade, coaching session, or employment assessment.
16. Retakes
If the learner does not pass, the attempted credential is not awarded. The learner still receives the Engagement Debrief. A subsequent attempt requires enrollment in another eligible Live Client Simulation using a different simulated client. There is no automatic repair-and-resubmit process, no free retake, no automatic discounted retake, no short reassessment product, and no automatic conversion of the original attempt into a pass after corrections.
17. Credential Scope and Limitations
An Applied Bookkeeping Belt represents the level of bookkeeping performance the learner successfully demonstrated within the applicable QBO Dojo simulated-client environment. It is not professional or governmental licensure. It is not an Intuit or QuickBooks certification. It does not guarantee employment, client suitability, or future work quality. It does not mean the credential holder is competent for every possible bookkeeping engagement or ready for every real client.
18. Intuit Independence
Applied Bookkeeping Belt credentials are issued independently by QBO Dojo LLC. They are not issued, sponsored, approved, or endorsed by Intuit Inc. They are not Intuit or QuickBooks certifications. QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online are registered trademarks of Intuit Inc. and are used by QBO Dojo only to identify the software environment used by the simulated clients.
19. Relationship to General Terms of Service
These Live Terms supplement the general QBO Dojo Terms of Service, Refund and Cancellation Policy, Privacy Policy, and Disclaimer. Where these Live Terms address a Live-specific matter, these Live Terms control. For matters not addressed here, the general Terms of Service and other policies apply.
